Born in the nearby area Paul grew up in the hotel trade and was a partner in his parents’ hotel business before he bought Nuthurst Grange in September 2006. Since then Paul has overseen a total refurbishment of the premises increasing the number of bedrooms, introducing a cocktail bar and expanding the dining and function facilities.

And 40-year-old Paul has no intention of stopping the improvements. Work is presently being carried out on restoring the old stables and barn in the grounds for on-site weddings, while a new conference/function centre is being built next door.

“I want to make Nuthurst Grange one of the top venues in the region. We have already done much to improve facilities here but we have no intention of stopping yet” says Paul.

Paul is certainly a “hands on” owner and can be seen around the hotel almost every day.

“If guest want a chat then I’m more than happy to stop what I’m doing and chat with them. I’m here to see that everything runs smoothly and everyone is happy. It’s what I love doing and it’s what I do best,” says Paul.
